Govrati - The Story

We're on a mission for all the right reasons

Govrati’s journey is rooted in a tradition of Goseva—serving cows as sacred beings—a value passed down to the founder by his father. Since 1999, the founder's family has dedicated themselves to cow care, especially in the challenging India-Pakistan border region. From 2000 to 2012, during severe droughts that claimed the lives of 25 lakh Desi cows, they provided crucial support to Gopalak families, organizing cattle camps supported by devotional and social organisations and offering aid.
Deeply connected to Gomata, the founder and his father believed that cows thrive best when cared for with Gopalak families, not in shelters or farms.

Disheartened by big dairy brands exploiting Gopalaks with low payments of milk and delayed credit cycles. In 2016, while pursuing his family business of real state development, the founder began collecting ghee and khoya (Mawa) from Gopalak families for religious hawan and temples to help Gopalak families. which evolved into a commercial venture as adviced by his father by 2022 as people started asking for adulteration tests and brand assurance. Initially started to sell ghee and other products to various A2 for repacking but was unhappy with how less these brands wanted to pay the Gopalak and loot the customers looking for Desi Cow products. The founder then launched Govrati to sell directly to the people looking for genuine Cow products.

Govrati honors traditional practices, ensures fair compensation for Gopalak families, and offers pure, authentic products made with devotion and care.
